Location: Stafford, Texas
When me and my friends went to celebrate my brother’s birthday we wanted something new, different, and budget friendly. We looked up places around the Stafford, Texas area and we stumbled upon a small, highly rated, and new Vietnamese restaurant.
Located among a Mexican and Asian plaza is this tucked away restaurant, Simply Viet. The exterior may seem deceiving, but the interior is truly clean and aesthetic. Inside the restaurant you can find a long bar against the wall and two tables accompanied by a couple of chairs. But what I find pleasing is the combination of plain furniture and décor that gives the place a modern, tranquil, and hipster feel.
The food on the other hand, blends perfectly with the mood of Simply Viet. The menu offers a minimal and cheap selection of rice with charbroiled meats, Bánh mì’s, and milk teas. I did not get to order the Bánh mì’s, but the rice with charbroiled chicken was just right for my taste. The chicken had an ideal balance of flavor to go with the pickled vegetables and rice. However, if someone craved for more flavor the meal came with chili and sweet and sour sauce. The milk tea with tapioca was satisfactory without being too sweet like other milk tea shops, but I would not go here solely just for the tap.
With a friendly service, satisfying atmosphere and cheap food, this place is worth going to for a quick service lunch. Simply Viet is an ideal eatery for busy people looking for a quick, fulfilling and inexpensive meal. I would also recommend this to anyone who wants to brave it out and go on the beaten path to find this haven.
Simply Viet’s selection of freshly cooked charbroiled meat and rice is a perfect way to quickly indulge Vietnamese cuisine.
